M.I.S.S.I.O.N. Purpose:
To create a safe place of spiritual and social intimacy where our youth can grow and develop by carrying out M.I.S.S.I.O.N.
M.I.S.S.I.O.N. Objectives:
1. To strengthen our youth’s relationship with God.
2. To build a Christ centered community within a circle of friends, in which the youth practice and experience what it means to be in ministry to and with one another.
3. To develop leaders in our youth.
4. To encourage and strengthen the sharing of our Faith in Jesus.
5. To work in collaboration with parents for the complete growth and development of our youth.
M.I.S.S.I.O.N. Structure:
The youth gather every Wednesday at 7:00 pm for a bible study that enables them to strengthen their relationship with God by hearing his word and sharing their questions and concerns in a friendly environment. Although, our bible studies are focused on the word of God, our teachers bring innovative and inviting ways to share this word with today’s youth. This includes videos, power points, skits, theme based scavenger hunts, and a hands on approach to God’s word. In addition, to our Wednesday studies, we also hold a once a month traditional youth revival service. It is here where we share with youth from other churches in praise and worship. We invite guest speakers to bring the word of God.
Furthermore, we encourage the development of tomorrow’s leaders by creating 3 different ministries within M.I.S.S.I.O.N. One ministry is the Student Council, which is responsible for organizing extra-curricular activities for the youth that enables them to share their faith within their community. Another ministry is the Worship Team. They coordinate and lead the praise and worship segment of our services and M.I.S.S.I.O.N. studies. They also share this ministry with others when attending regional talent shows.
The third ministry is the Drama Team. They develop skits and plays that teach about God’s word in a way that we can all relate to. These are performed in various settings including being part of the Sunday sermons before the entire congregation. For more info see their myspace page at http://myspace.com/betesdadrama.These three ministries allow our youth to develop their skills and talents in a fun and constructive manner. They are the catalyst we use to share our faith with our community.
